This band has got it going on.  The Fiery Furnaces are one kick ass band, and this show was amazing.  Ephman's been to Le Poisson Rouge a few times to see various acts.  This was the first time the show was "in the round", and it was great!  You can get right up close.  The show was not sold out which was a bit of a let down since this band is so great.  Eleanor Friedberger has some great moves.  She totally knows rock and roll, she just seems to live it.  Her brother Matthew is the same way.  Solid guitar playing last night.  After seeing them play live last evening they really should stop being compared to The White Stripes.  In a way Ephman thinks that they put on a better live show.  As well their song selection had a wider variation.  The bass player Jason Lowenstein is as solid a bass player as you can get.  But rumour around town has it that this guy can play anything!  Kudos of the night goes to Bob D’Amico.  The band does not make it easy on this fellow.  He must have burned 12,000 calories.  Banging away on that drum kit last night was awesome.  When he plays it just looks like he's the one in control, not the drums.  Except for the comedy relief of him not getting the setlist right... this show was flawless.  The Fiery Furnaces are a pro band, and hopefully you'll be seeing a lot MORE of them.  Keep playing!
