Torchwood: Children Of Earth Is Creepy

Is so glad the mini-series came out but what happened to the campy?
torchwood bbc picture. took it from there.

Torchwood is a BBC show who's title is a spin-off of the longtime running Doctor Who.  The creator Russel T Davis is like famous for spinning off Doctor Who characters into their own show.  Remember The Sarah Jane Adventures.  Anyways Torchwood is an anagram for Doctor Who.  Took Ephman like 5 episodes to figure that one out.

The series is bascially about this alien special forces unit started by Queen Victoria, and the hijinx that entail.  For some reason Cardiff, England seems to be the epi-center of all things strange in England.  The team consists of 5 main characters.  The team consists of Jack Harkness the indestructable leader, Gwen Cooper the new girl, Own Harper the angry Doc, Toshiko Sato the cute computer girl, and the always helpful Ianto Jones.  However, not all is so fine and dandy at Torchwood.  A couple characters don't get to make it from the series to Children of Earth, but you need to watch the show to find out why and how... no spoilers here kiddo.

Ephman got into COE right from the start.  It was like seeing old friends again.  It's been a bit of time and he forgot... almost why a few characters weren't there.  Straight from the get-go you notice that the Children of the Earth installment is a lot more slicker then the regular series was.  Missed was that bit of campiness that was loved so much.  But added was a total CREEP factor that wasn't so prevelant in the show. But that quirkyness isn't all lost.

So interstellar drug dealers come back to earth to pickup some more 'stuff'.  Children secret this stuff that these aliens get totally off on.  They broke a deal that was made years and years ago with Jack.  Hey they're dealers what do you expect?  Well the kids all around start screaming in unison "We Are Coming", over and over again until all of a sudden they start to scream "We Are Here".  YIKES.  So of course Jack and his team need to save the planet from losing 10% of their kids.

What's really cool about this mini-series is you find out a bit more about Jack Harkness's life.  Yep, he has a family (well sort of).  OOOOO what's up with Gwen and her husband these days?  And does Ianto still love Jack, but more importantly is he out of the closet?  These questions and a ton more get answered and new one's as well arise... is it actually possible to kill Jack?

If you've never watched Torchwood Ephman found these two long lost episodes that might help you figure out what this totally awesome show is about.
