01.22.11

February has to be the strangest month of the year. It's like the Tuesday of months. It's schizo, does it have 28 days or 29 days? It's got this odd silent “R”. And what kind of holiday is Nation Pet Dental Health Month? It's just such a strange month, do we really even need it?

Ephman has the prediction skills of the Amazing Kreskin, and the crazy smarts of Grigory Perelman. So this year (it still being 2010) he will predict the craziness that will ensue for 2011. Some of these things might amaze you, they might surprise you, but most definitely they will maybe make you think WTF? These are the consequences to knowing the future...

Cambodia is totally like the wild west of Indochina. This country has had its ups and definitely it's downs. But the most important thing is that it's such a wonderful country to visit. And you should go before it either implodes or turns into another Thailand. The people... oh my gosh they are way too nice, it sort of freaked Ephman out. He's not used to that.

10.18.10

Ephman headed off to Las Vegas, Nevada for a little climbing.  And while hanging out at Desert Rock Sports, was told about Dark Shadows.  A classic Red Rocks route.  Hey, it was in the shade, and shade is good while in Vegas, right?

06.01.10

Ephman's done it... He's maintained a blog for a year.  Ok fine, so there's been a week here or a week there that he didn't post anything.  Whatever.  It's still a year and Ephman is still alive and growing.  And he's out of diapers too!  What a year it's been.

05.04.10

Ephman was in total awe watching Peter Gabriel and the New Blood Orchestra at Radio City Music Hall.  It's too bad the crowd was filled with wankers.  But whatever Gabriel totally made up for it.  Plus it's always nice to see a surprise guest hit the stage.  Can you guess who?

05.03.10

For a new band, these cats are pretty cool in Ephman's books.  Good songs, unique enough act, love the screen, talented musicians, and sold stage presence.  What can you ask for more?  You need to check this band out because if they keep pushing hard they have a chance.  So click in and watch a video or two.  OK?

04.27.10

Oh twist Ephman's arm to stay here again, come on twist it.  Tranquilio Bay in Panama is an awesome place, made by awesome people.  This area of the world is just very special.  So it's nice to see special people caring for it in a responsible way.

03.09.10

Now there is no convincing Ephman that anything other then SCTV is the funniest television show ever to be produced.  Just check out the talent that has come out of that small Canadian TV show.  And who can forget The Schmenge Brothers?

03.01.10

Not to shabby a concert, not too shabby at all.  And no it wasn't because of the fine bottle of white wine Ephman downed durning the process.  Robyn might not have been on the top of his game, but that's why it was such a charming concert.

02.18.10

This was one of the biggest let downs Ephman has ever witnessed from such a great artist.  Daniel Lanois' new project dubbed Black Dub came to The Bowery Ballroom and bored the life out of the audience for 90 minutes.  OK, they weren't on stage yet...  but still you needed to be there to know why.

01.27.10

Krav Maga just might be one of those "it's too good to be true" secrets you keep hearing about.  This hand to hand combat system can be taught to anybody.  It's so easy, and so effective, it can really save you on day.  But it's one of the skills you'll never want to learn.  The only rule to Krav Maga is that there are no rules.  So step inside and see if this "martial art" (which isn't a martial art) is for you.  For Ephman it's like his visa card.  He doesn't leave home without it.

01.08.10

All the pieces were in place for one of those legendary concerts Ephman always talks about.  Especially with special surprise guest from Steely Dan, Donald Fagen on stage... But this show just left Ephman feeling "why?".  Was it for the money?  Was it to promote his new album?  Was because he didn't want to get sued for pulling out?  Levon should have just stayed home in Woodstock and got better.

12.25.09

As most of you know Ephman's a pretty big fan of Broadway.  The day Mamet announce Race, Ephman was like "oh this is going to be wicked".  He was right.  This is a great all around play.  And just proves that Mamet tackles great topics in some crazy insightful ways.  Oh, and John Boy Walton's in it, and there's some great one liners.

11.26.09

The Pixies finally came back to New York City and rocked the house at the Hammerstein Ballroom. This is the first time Ephman has ever seen them play. And now totally understands how Kurt Cobain owes such a huge debt to the Pixies. It's odd for a band to play an entire album. They selected their seminal album Doolittle. If you weren't there you missed something special.  But, have no fear, Ephman has some great videos!!!

10.29.09

Wow for what started out as a great marriage between Ephman and ASUS, has soured so badly over the past month.  See Ephman's not one to put up a fuss too much unless there's a real and viable reason.  Well ASUS you SUCK!!

10.20.09

This past Formula One season was full of drama.  You had your liars (World Champion Lewis Hamilton), your cheaters (Flavio Briatore & Renault), your dissenters (FOTA), and your Nazi S&M freaks (Max Mosely)...  But what you had the most of was the Cinderella story of the humble BrawnGP team.

10.18.09

This is the third time Ephman's seen Nick Lowe.  OK, keep in mind that this review comes about a week after he played.  Vegas was calling, and Ephman had no time to review the show while he was there...  Maybe this will lighten things up a bit?

10.07.09

Ephman likes a great anime as much as the next guy.  It's the art, the unique story lines, and the action that he likes.  Just the fact that 1000's of hours are put into this art form to make it perfect is reason enough to marvel at it.  But the high expectations of Shigurui: Death Frenzy just couldn't live up to everything.

09.15.09

This concert was a family affair. Oh if you know the story that works on so many different levels. There were the Wainwrights, the Roches, and the Roches-Wainwrights all on stage together. All in support of Loudon's new album. You can thank the dead Charlie Poole for this one.

09.13.09

Totally SUCKS that Ephman couldn't stay for the whole event.  It's been fashion week in NYC and he had a prior engagement.  But don't let it ever be said that Ephman won't keep his word.  He showed up, and he liked what he saw.

09.02.09

Let's just say that if you weren't at Terminal 5 on September 1st you weren't anywhere.  This was 100% the place to be.  Michael Franti & Spearhead with guest Cherine Anderson created one really cool vibration.  Almost a rasta vibration.

08.25.09

If you follow this blog you'll notice that Ephman likes to write about running every so often.  And if you don't follow this blog you should :)  Anyways everybody knows of Adidas, Brooks, New Balance and especially Nike.  But what's a Mizuno?  Read on and find out why Ephman now runs in these.

08.17.09

Right from the start Chickenfoot was on fire! Does this band love their fans? Love? Ephman thinks they're infatuated with them. And the fans loved them back. Great video inside of the opening song.
