Why Twitter Sucks But Kind Of Not Sucks

Video:

What is it with Twitter? Does Twitter Suck? Does Twitter not suck? Whatever you can go on and on about this and that and still not really answer any of those questions. Actually the only question Ephman can 100% answer is “what makes Twitter suck?”.   Back at BlogWorld '08 in one seminar about something or other the presenter asked “who here knows Twitter?”. Only like 10% of the room put their hand up. Ephman was one of those people. See like 5 minutes before in the hall he was talking to somebody that mentioned it. He didn't even have a account yet. To be honest it kind of sounded dumb to him. 140 characters? What can you do with 140 characters?  He's still trying to figure that out.   Whatever he signed up later that day.  His first Tweet was retarded “just left blogworld”. Whatelse did he know... And now it's like years later, over 850 (at time he wrote this) Tweets, and 1500 followers. Ok sure he could have rocked it more.

But certain things really suck about Twitter.   Like idiot followers. Not the real people that press the button to follow somebody. Never let it be said “that Ephman love ya!”. But more like @cpv_coppercreek (Copper Creek Gold) @yourprofits01 (some idiot) @cypress_cyp (Cypress Development) @argonautexp (Argonaut Exploration) @swydiamonds (Stornway Diamonds) @kodiakexp (Kodiak Exploration) @bayfield_byv (Bayfield Ventures) etc... etc... These morons are stock promoters. And what's worse is that they promote loser stocks out there just to steal your money. They grab a ton of followers and like tweet once or twice about how much gold or copper of diamonds they're going to mine. Boom they hope their stock price rises. Most likely they're liars standing in front of a hole in the ground. You can't do due diligence in 140 characters. These mining companies are all acting like the classic pump and dump scam. Hey “mining companies” do you really care about Ephman's blog?

On the other side, Twitter is awesome. Ephman never knew he could say so much to so many people in 140 characters. He's met so many nice people. Like @rhymzwithstarry @coolzy74 (his brother, does that count?) @sunaware @guykawasaki (who knows Ephman as a nice Canadian). It's like a community out there. You can take part and Tweet, or you don't have to and sit back and watch.   Twitter can also make you laugh your ass off. Real hard. @notjaycutler @mickey_rourke @stephenfry and his wife @mrsstephenfry They have some of the wittiest, dirtiest, and classic Tweets. Who can think of that stuff, and then throw it into 140 characters. Not Ephman. But you should follow @ephman cause it's the trendy thing to do at the moment.

See the great thing about Twitter is that it can be whatever you want it to be. Totally a democratic society. Better Twitterers get more followers, sucky ones like Ephman... a bit less. (but like mentioned about you should follow him @ephman ).   Twitter can be pretty boring though. If you're not following somebody unique in their Tweets, it's like watching grass grow. “watching The Hills :) Lauren Conrad <333”, was a recent tweet from @khyledeen. Or how about “#Now playing - Pankaj Udhas - Thodi thodi piya karo” from the boring @svgan_in. Like even why bother. You're just wasting every one of your followers time. Thanks.

Then you come across great Twitters like @adventuregirl (1.5 million followers) who will not only Tweet great tips. She'll also send you great advice personally “Hey= Have fun- be safe and make sure you stay clear of raw veggies + only drink bottled water with a cap you take off. share when U get bak!” said @adventuregirl. This was after @ephman reached out to her for some tips on traveling to Cambodia. 1,500,000 followers and she sends @ephman a message. Makes ya feel like this huge world is actually really small.   Twitter is what you want it to be. All in 140 characters or less. Preferably less because most Twitterers are boring (@ephman included but still follow him cause there are some gems in there).
