FELA! @ Eugene O’Neill Theatre

Event Date: Wed, 2010-01-27

Bill T. Jones is one of the best choreographers out there.  He's already won a Tony.  And without seeing this play yet, Ephman's betting that he'll be up for another one.  He's just that awesome a talent.  So Bill and Jim Lewis wrote a book about a pretty controversial fellow named Fela Kuti.  He was a Nigerian musician that James Brown said was one of the originators of funk.

Which probably is why Jay-Z and The Fresh Prince (aka Will Smith), and the Fresh's wife Jada Pinkett Smith are behind this production.  So come on with that pedigree, the music is going to be great right?  And since Ephman has probably never heard any of Fela's music, this will really be a great time learning about him.  So make sure you come back and check out the review.  Because one day Ephman is sure this will tour.  It's come from off Broadway...
