Jonsi @ Terminal 5

jonsi, Jón Þór Birgisson, sigur ros, iceland, music, rock and roll
Event Date: Sat, 2010-05-08

Something special about Iceland and music.  Ephman guesses it takes a country of 300,000 in the middle of nowhere to make great music.  Ephman's theory on why Iceland produces so many unique acts is a combination of it's isolation from the rest of Europe and it's new found wealth.  Icelanders need to influence Icelanders, and now kids have more time on their hand to play music.  No more going out to sea to fish for a living.

And Jonsi (aka Jón Þór Birgisson) ain't an exception.  His voice is so cool.  Ironic since he was born in the north of Iceland in a town.  Ephman knows.. he's been there.  He's also openly gay.  Which is still kind of out of the ordinary for rock musicians in this genre.  Not that there's anything wrong with being gay.

But this dude plays a pretty mean guitar.  And Ephman especially enjoys it when he pulls out the violin bow and starts taking it to his Les Paul.  In any event he's promoting a new album (which Ephman needs to get).  The albums named Go.  There's also the main track's video down there a fine ditty named Boy Lilikoi
